The Bombay High Court directed the Government of Maharashtra to frame a policy to allow cinemagoers to carry their own food inside multiplex. Multiplexes violate the right to life under Article 21 by denying people to carry their own food and instead, force them to purchase junk food at exorbitant prices. The issue of illegal vending and supply of food inside the cinema auditorium is also under consideration.
